Stormwater - City of Griffin 2010 Stream Clean-up Project
The City of Griffin Stormwater Department will be holding its 2010 Stream Clean-up on Saturday, March 27, 2010 at 9:00 a.m. The event will start at the old Wal-Mart parking lot - (643 North Expressway). We are looking for volunteers from both groups and individuals who will help to pick up trash and debris from local Griffin and Spalding County streams and creeks. Stormwater - Environmental
Hotline
The City of Griffin Stormwater Department has recently set up an Environmental
Hotline so the citizens of Griffin will be able to call and report environmental
issues. The Hotline should be used to report illegal dumping of materials;
watering violations; blowing of grass clippings or leaves into a street,
a storm drain, a creek or other similar concerns. The Hotline is a 24
hour a day recording system giving callers the opportunity to stay anonymous
or leave their name and telephone number if they wish to be contacted
about their reported problem. The City of Griffin would like to ask
for the help of all of our citizens in protecting our environment. To

Water & Wastewater - 2010 Fix A Leak Week
EPA WaterSense has developed a promotional toolkit to promote the annual “Fix a Leak Week”. “Fix a Leak Week” is an easy way to educate your customers, community members and students about the importance of conserving water and checking for leaks. This toolkit includes a number of materials such as a press release, fact sheet, bill stuffers, web text, lesson plans and much more. Water & Wastewater - Still Branch Reservoir
The City of Griffin’s Water and Wastewater Department’s
Still Branch Reservoir is now open.
This pristine
fishing facility is open Wednesday through Sunday 7:00 a.m. to 7:00
p.m. and closed Monday and Tuesday. There is a $3.00 fee per vehicle.
The reservoir is open to fishing with certain guideliness in place to
protect the reservoir and the environment. Bank fishing is allowed in
the recreational area only.

Water & Wastewater - Outdoor Water Restrictions
The City of Griffin and the Georgia Environmental Protection Division
has implemented a NON DROUGHT scheduled use on water.
ODD numbered addresses may water on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday
EVEN numbered addresses and UNNUMBERED lots may water on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday
NO WATERING
ALLOWED ON FRIDAY
Landscape watering is discouraged between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. because of its limited effectiveness.
